Getting a puppy to Delaware
At 2,200 to 2,400 miles, driving to Delaware takes 3 to 4 days, which is a long time for a young dog. Most buyers this far out choose a flight nanny instead: a courier who flies with the puppy in the cabin, holds it the whole way, and hands it to you at arrivals.
Never as cargo. Not for my puppies, not ever, whatever the airline says it allows.

Delaware preempts local breed ordinances
Delaware bars municipalities from regulating dogs by breed, which makes it one of the more straightforward states in the north east for an American Bully owner. Action against an individual dog remains available on the basis of what that dog has actually done.
Housing is where Delaware buyers meet a restriction more often than at the city. Rental policies and homeowner insurance set their own breed terms, and Dover brings base family housing into play for some.
One further Delaware quirk worth knowing: the state is small enough that many owners live in one county and work or walk the dog in another, and the preemption means that crossing those lines does not change the answer. That is a simpler position than most of the mid-Atlantic.

Coastal humidity and a short, easy winter
Delaware summers are humid in the way the whole mid-Atlantic coast is, and that is the season to plan around. Early morning walks, shade, and no strenuous work in the afternoon through July and August.
Winters are short and mild and rarely affect anything. The state is small enough that no part of it is far from veterinary care, which is a genuine advantage and not true everywhere I deliver. The run from Sedona is a three to four day drive, so most Delaware puppies travel by flight nanny instead.
