Collecting in Arizona

I meet buyers up to two hours out of Sedona at no charge. That covers a great deal of Arizona, and most people simply come to the house, meet the litter and take their puppy the same day.

Collection takes about half an hour, most of which is going through the health record and answering whatever you’ve thought of since you wrote. You’ll meet the dam.

What a puppy costs delivered to Arizona

Every puppy is $700, whatever its size class and whatever its colour. Tell me whereabouts you are and you’ll get one number with nothing added afterwards.

What the first year actually costs, which is more than the puppy.

Where Arizona law stands on the breed

Arizona took this question away from its cities in 2016. State law now stops any Arizona county, city or town from writing an ordinance that treats a dog differently because of its breed, so there’s nowhere in the state where an American Bully is banned for being one. Individual dogs can still be declared vicious under the dangerous dog provisions, which turn on what a dog has actually done rather than on what it looks like.

That makes Arizona one of the more straightforward states to own this breed in. The remaining restrictions are private: a landlord can still write a breed clause into a lease and a homeowner policy can still exclude, and neither is affected by the state law.

Ordinances change and this isn’t legal advice. The state-by-state dog law tables at Michigan State University are the reference collection if you want to read the statute yourself. Whatever your state does, the two things worth confirming in writing before you commit are your own city or county code and your landlord, association or insurer, because private rules aren’t affected by any state law. Ask me to hold a puppy while you check. I’ll.

Heat is the whole of it in Arizona

Sedona sits at about 4,300 feet, which runs it fifteen to twenty degrees cooler than the Phoenix valley on a summer afternoon. A puppy raised here isn’t acclimated to a Phoenix or Tucson July, and a heavily built dog with a short muzzle is poorly equipped for it in the first place. These dogs cool by panting and a shortened airway does that job badly.

What that means in practice for a Valley household: walks at first light and after dark, never in the middle of the day, and the back of your hand on the pavement for five seconds before you let a dog stand on it. Shade and water in the yard aren’t optional between June and September. Nobody in Phoenix needs telling that a car is lethal in summer, but it bears repeating that it’s lethal in the four minutes it takes to pay for fuel.

Cities I’ve delivered to in Arizona

Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, Prescott, Scottsdale, Mesa among others. If your town isn’t on that list it changes nothing: the route is the same and the handover is to your door.

Every puppy is vet checked by Bell Rock Veterinary Clinic in Sedona before it travels, and goes with a written health record. I don’t screen or certify the parents and don’t claim to. What I actually do · What comes with your puppy · Sales policy
