Puppy Contract

1. The parties and the puppy

The seller is Greg Harpson, trading as Majestic American Bully, Sedona, Arizona 86336. The buyer is you. The contract identifies the specific puppy by name, sex, date of birth, colour and size class.

2. Price and payment

• The price is $700. It does not vary by colour, size class or sex.
• A deposit reserves a specific named puppy and is deducted from the price.
• The balance is due before the puppy travels, or at collection.
• Delivery, if required, is quoted separately by distance and is not marked up.
• Microchipping is available for an additional fee if requested before travel.
• No other fee is charged at any point.

3. Deposits

• A deposit is non-refundable if you change your mind. This is what allows a puppy to be held off the market.
• If I cancel for any reason, including the puppy failing its pre-travel veterinary examination, your deposit is refunded in full or transferred to another puppy, at your choice.
• If a delivery date moves for weather, a heat advisory or a road closure, that is not a cancellation. You are told why and a new date is agreed.

4. What I warrant

At the time the puppy leaves my care:

• It has been examined by Bell Rock Veterinary Clinic, 45 Bell Rock Plaza, Sedona, AZ 86351, and found healthy on that examination.
• It has received DHPP, covering distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvovirus, and at ten weeks dhpp booster and canine influenza.
• It has been wormed every two weeks from two weeks of age.
• It travels with a written health record showing all dates.
• It is at least eight weeks old. I do not release puppies earlier.

7. Your obligations

• Have the puppy examined by your own vet within one week of arrival.
• Complete the vaccination course on your veterinarian’s schedule.
• Provide appropriate food, shelter, exercise and veterinary care for the dog’s life.
• Confirm before purchase that your lease, HOA and insurer permit the breed and the adult weight. I will hold a puppy while you get this in writing.
• Do not leave the dog chained or continuously confined.

8. Rehoming, and the takeback

I’ll take back any dog I’ve bred, at any point in its life, with no time limit and no questions asked.

• If you can no longer keep the dog, at any age and for any reason, contact me first.
• Do not sell or give the dog to anyone else, and never surrender it to a shelter, without contacting me first.
• There is no refund at that stage. This is a commitment that a dog I bred never has to take its chances, not a returns policy.
• I ask only that you tell me honestly what has changed, so the dog can be placed properly.

9. Breeding

Puppies are sold as companions. I do not impose a mandatory spay or neuter deadline, because timing in a large breed is a decision for you and your veterinarian and there is a reasonable argument for waiting until the growth plates close. Discuss it at the first visit.

10. General

• This contract is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona.
• It is the entire agreement. Nothing said in conversation, by message or on this website overrides it.
• If any single clause is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
• Both parties receive a signed copy.

This is the contract, published in full and in advance. If something in it concerns you, raise it before you pay a deposit. I would far rather renegotiate a term than have you sign something you were unhappy with.
