I’ve no blue puppies in the current group. It’s common in the breed. The premium the market attaches: consistently marked up despite being one of the most common coats in the breed. I charge $700 for every puppy regardless of coat, so none of that premium applies here.

I’d rather show you nothing than show you nine puppies that aren’t blue and hope you don’t notice. Coats change litter to litter, so tell me what you’re after and I’ll say honestly whether it’s coming. What I do have is below.

What makes a blue American Bully blue
A black dog carrying two copies of the recessive d allele at the D locus. The dilution acts on black pigment throughout, which is why the nose, lips and eye rims are gray rather than black and the eyes are often amber.
How to tell it’s genuinely blue
Routinely confused with blue fawn and with a plain gray-looking black. The test is the whole dog rather than the body: a true blue has gray pigment everywhere, so the nose leather, lips and eye rims are gray. If the coat looks slate but the nose is solid black, it isn’t blue.
What blue costs, and what I charge
Typically $1,500 to $3,500. Given it’s one of the commonest coats in the breed, that’s the clearest example of a premium tracking fashion rather than scarcity.
Blue is the coat most people picture when they picture this breed, and it’s worth understanding that it’s common rather than rare. The premium attached to it’s the clearest example in the breed of a price that reflects marketing rather than scarcity. It’s a good-looking dog and there’s nothing wrong with wanting one. Just know that you’re paying for the look, and that the dilution gene carrying it has a documented coat condition attached, which the listings charging three thousand dollars for blue very rarely mention.

Health, specifically for this coat
Color dilution alopecia. The hair in diluted areas can become brittle and thin, sometimes with recurring skin infections, usually appearing between six months and three years.
It doesn’t happen to every diluted dog and plenty live their whole lives with perfect coats. It isn’t painful and not dangerous, but it’s permanent and it needs managing, and it attaches specifically to the coats carrying the biggest premiums.
