Ground transport is 3 days across 2,000 to 2,200 miles, driven the whole way in a climate-controlled vehicle with regular stops.
A flight nanny is one day. The courier flies with the puppy in the cabin and hands it to you at arrivals. At this distance most North Carolina buyers choose the nanny, and I would too.
Either way the puppy is never shipped as cargo. That isn’t negotiable.

North Carolina leaves it to the county
North Carolina has no statewide breed ban and no preemption, so the authority sits with the city and the county. Charlotte and Raleigh don’t ban the breed, and neither do the other large metros, but the state gives you no guarantee about a smaller municipality.
North Carolina also has an unusual statute worth knowing about: an owner is strictly liable for injury caused by a dog running at large at night. That isn’t breed-specific, it applies to any dog, and it’s a good reason to take fencing seriously with a strong animal that’s perfectly capable of testing it.

Whatever your state does, the two things worth confirming in writing before you commit are your own city or county code and your landlord, association or insurer, because private rules aren’t affected by any state law. A moderate climate and a major hub
North Carolina is comfortable ground for this breed for most of the year. The coastal plain gets humid in July and August and needs the usual care, but the Piedmont and the mountains are moderate enough that a bully lives an ordinary outdoor-walk life almost year round.
Charlotte being one of the busiest airline hubs in the country is the practical reason most of my North Carolina buyers use a flight nanny rather than the three-day drive. A courier flies with the puppy in the cabin and hands it over at arrivals, which turns a three day road journey into an afternoon.
