The drive to Minnesota
It’s 2 to 3 days on the road, 1,500 to 1,700 miles door to door. Somebody drives it, stops with it, and hands it to you at the other end. There’s no depot, no holding facility and no transfer between carriers.
Cargo holds aren’t an option I offer at any distance. A flight nanny carrying the puppy in the cabin is, if you’d rather it traveled by air.

Minnesota limits breed-based local rules
Minnesota state law works from an individual dog’s behaviour in its dangerous dog provisions rather than from breed, which is the framework an American Bully owner wants. Municipal licensing still sits with the city, so read your local code for that side of it.
Housing is the more common obstacle here than any ordinance. Twin Cities rental stock applies its own pet policies and insurers apply their own breed lists, and neither follows from the statute.
Ordinances change and this isn’t legal advice. The state-by-state dog law tables at Michigan State University are the reference collection if you want to read the statute yourself. Whatever your state does, the two things worth confirming in writing before you commit are your own city or county code and your landlord, association or insurer, because private rules aren’t affected by any state law. Serious winters, and a dog that barely notices
Minnesota winters are long and cold and, for this breed, the easy season. A bully is far more comfortable at minus twenty in a heated house than at thirty-five in humid air. Salted pavements and paw care are the real winter jobs rather than keeping the dog warm.
The summers are the part worth planning around. July in the Twin Cities is humid enough to matter, so the walking happens early and late, and my runs up there go overnight from May. Winter travel is planned with a spare day, because a storm across the plains can close the route at short notice.
