XXL American Bully Kennels
What a kennel means when it advertises XXL, and how to buy a big bully well.
There’s no XXL class, so there’s no such thing as an XXL kennel in any formal sense. Kennels advertising it are selling large XLs, which is a legitimate thing to sell and an odd thing to charge a premium for. Mine are $700 whatever the class.

What the word is doing
XXL has no defined height, no standard and no recognition. In practice it’s applied to dogs at the top of the XL range, and sometimes to dogs that are simply overweight. The premium attached to it, often several thousand dollars, buys a word.
What I can tell you about mine
Ask for withers height on both parents. If a kennel talks only in pounds, that’s a decision rather than an oversight.
Then look at what the size is costing the dogs. Can the parents breathe quietly at rest? Do they move soundly? Are they lean, or is the impressive bulk actually fat? A heavy dog kept lean is a different animal from a heavy dog kept heavy, and only one of them reaches twelve.
The honest position
I’ve a page ranking for XXL because it’s what people type. It says what this one says: buy a well-built XL, keep it lean, and don’t pay a premium for a term nobody defines. The comparison in full.
The same for every puppy here
$700 whatever the class, whatever the colour, male or female. Vet checked by Bell Rock Veterinary Clinic before travel, a written health record, and enough of its food to change over gradually. Delivered to all fifty states, never as cargo.
I don’t screen or certify the parents and won’t claim I do. What I do is have every puppy examined by Bell Rock Veterinary Clinic before it leaves, and the dates go on the record that travels with the dog.
