Two ways to get a puppy to Michigan
Ground transport is 3 days across 1,900 to 2,100 miles, driven the whole way in a climate-controlled vehicle with regular stops.
A flight nanny is one day. The courier flies with the puppy in the cabin and hands it to you at arrivals. At this distance most Michigan buyers choose the nanny, and I would too.
Either way the puppy is never shipped as cargo. That isn’t negotiable.

No state ban in Michigan, and no preemption
Michigan has no statewide breed-specific law, and it has no statute stopping a local government from writing one. That combination means the answer changes from one township to the next, which catches people out in the Detroit metro in particular, where you can move four miles and be under a different set of rules.
Detroit itself doesn’t ban the breed. Several smaller municipalities around the metro do have restrictions on the books. Michigan’s dog law framework otherwise runs on individual dangerous dog determinations, which is the sensible half of it.
Ordinances change and this isn’t legal advice. The state-by-state dog law tables at Michigan State University are the reference collection if you want to read the statute yourself. Whatever your state does, the two things worth confirming in writing before you commit are your own city or county code and your landlord, association or insurer, because private rules aren’t affected by any state law. A long winter is the easy part
Michigan winters are long, and cold is much less of a problem for this breed than people expect. A bully carries condition well and is comfortable outside in a Michigan January for a normal walk. What does need attention is road salt, which cracks and burns pads over a winter, so a rinse and a wipe after every walk is worth the thirty seconds.
The larger caution is ice. A seventy pound dog that slips on a driveway can do real damage to a joint, and in the first year while the growth plates are still open that’s a lasting injury rather than a limp. Keep a young dog on a short lead on ice and skip the off-lead run until spring.
