The real differences between males and females in this breed, and which suits which household.
Female American Bullies run roughly an inch shorter and ten to twenty pounds lighter than males of the same class, and tend to mature a little earlier. Temperament differences between the sexes are far smaller than differences between individuals, which is the part most buyers get backwards.

The differences that aren’t
Females aren’t automatically calmer, more affectionate or easier to train. Males aren’t automatically more protective. Those are stereotypes and they don’t survive contact with a litter: the steadiest puppy in a group is as often a male as a female.
Choose on the individual puppy’s temperament and on size. If you already have a dog, sex matters more, because same-sex tolerance is the one place the difference is genuinely predictive. Two females or two males in one house is more likely to need management than a mixed pair.
Spaying
Ask your vet about timing rather than defaulting to six months. In large breeds there’s a reasonable argument for waiting until the growth plates close, and it’s a conversation worth having properly. Budget $300 to $600.
