What makes a fawn American Bully fawn
The ay allele at the A locus, producing red pigment across the coat. It ranges from pale cream to deep red depending on modifiers, with a black or a diluted mask.
How to tell it’s genuinely fawn
Confused with red and with champagne. Fawn covers a huge range and the boundary with red is a matter of depth rather than genetics. The distinction from champagne is dilution: champagne is a fawn with the dilution gene, which lightens the nose. Fawn with a black mask is undiluted.

Usually $800 to $1,800. Sensibly priced, widely available, and carrying no coat-linked health risk at all.
Fawn covers an enormous visual range, from near-white cream through to a deep mahogany red, all produced by the same underlying gene with modifiers deciding the depth. It’s common, it’s inexpensive relative to the fashionable coats, and it carries no colour-linked health risk at all. Lilac fawn is a variant I often have: fawn with the dilution applied, which lightens the pigment and gives the paler nose.
