The drive to Indiana
It’s 2 to 3 days on the road, 1,700 to 1,900 miles door to door. Somebody drives it, stops with it, and hands it to you at the other end. There’s no depot, no holding facility and no transfer between carriers.
Cargo holds aren’t an option I offer at any distance. A flight nanny carrying the puppy in the cabin is, if you’d rather it traveled by air.

Indiana leaves it to local government
Indiana has no statewide breed-specific law and no preemption, so authority sits with the city and the county. Indianapolis doesn’t ban the breed. Some smaller Indiana municipalities have restrictions and a few have repealed them in recent years, which is a reason to check the current code rather than an older summary you find online.
Indiana state law does impose criminal liability on an owner whose dog causes serious injury, and it’s written around the dog rather than the type. That’s the framework that applies to you statewide.

Whatever your state does, the two things worth confirming in writing before you commit are your own city or county code and your landlord, association or insurer, because private rules aren’t affected by any state law. Cold winters, humid summers, and stairs
Indiana gets both ends of the year with some force, and of the two the July humidity matters more for this breed than the January cold does. A bully copes with an Indiana winter easily and struggles with a still, humid ninety-degree afternoon.
The other thing worth raising for an Indiana buyer, and it applies to the whole Midwest housing stock, is stairs. A great many homes here have basement stairs and a full flight to the bedrooms, and a heavy dog going up and down them repeatedly through its first year is hard on hips and elbows that are still forming. Carry a puppy on stairs until it’s six months old and put a runner on the treads. It’s a small thing that pays off over a ten year life.
