Two ways to get a puppy to Georgia
Ground transport is 3 days across 1,800 to 2,000 miles, driven the whole way in a climate-controlled vehicle with regular stops.
A flight nanny is one day. The courier flies with the puppy in the cabin and hands it to you at arrivals. At this distance most Georgia buyers choose the nanny, and I would too.
Either way the puppy is never shipped as cargo. That isn’t negotiable.

Georgia is a city-level question
Georgia has no statewide breed ban and no preemption. The state’s Responsible Dog Ownership Law is breed-neutral: it works through classifying an individual dog as dangerous or vicious after an incident, with registration and containment requirements attached. Atlanta doesn’t ban the breed.
Because there’s no preemption, smaller Georgia municipalities can and sometimes do write their own restrictions. The state law tells you nothing about your city, so check the city code and, if you rent, the lease.

Whatever your state does, the two things worth confirming in writing before you commit are your own city or county code and your landlord, association or insurer, because private rules aren’t affected by any state law. Buying in the busiest bully market in the South
Metro Atlanta has one of the most active American Bully markets in the country. There are genuinely good programs in Georgia and there’s also a large volume of dogs changing hands between people who didn’t breed them, at prices that swing from a few hundred dollars to five figures for the same size of dog.
The three questions that separate the two are the same ones I’d want asked here: who raised this litter, which veterinary clinic has seen it and what’s their number, and what happens if it doesn’t work out. Anyone who answers all three without hesitating is worth buying from, in Georgia or from eighteen hundred miles away.
